Let's talk about the dark side of the fast food industry. The average American eats fast food 2-3 times a week and spends $1,500-2,000 a year. People think they're saving money by choosing fast food. In reality, they're spending more. A huge portion of the ingredients in this food are government-subsidized, meaning they're paying for it with tax dollars. Also, by buying this food, you're buying health problems.

There are many tricks and gimmicks that fast food restaurants use to entice you to buy more, even colors. They also usually use decoys, where they sell one item below market price in order to sell you more of other items.

When it comes to beef and chicken used in fast food, it's factory farmed.

So what's the quality of the ingredients in fast food? High-fructose corn syrup is unique. It affects the body differently than other sugars. It causes widespread inflammation and doesn't provide a feeling of satiety. You can drink a glass of sugary soda and still not feel full. In terms of toxicity, it affects the liver similarly to alcohol and is absorbed faster than other sugars. Seed oils are also added to these foods. Fillers and thickeners, such as maltodextrin and modified starch, are also used.

This food is highly processed. It causes inflammation due to the omega-6 fatty acids it contains. Oil for deep-frying is reused up to hundreds of times. Animals are fed corn. Breadings are also made from corn, as are sauces.
