UPS Rank-and-File Focus: David Fernandez
Like UPS package drivers all over the country, David is counting on his rank-and-file co-workers on the National Negotiating Committee to help end the 22.4 classification and convert all package drivers to Regular Package Car Drivers. David, a member of Local 177 in Secaucus, New Jersey, has confidence in his local's representation on the National Committee to win equal pay for drivers and make sure Teamster work isn't being taken away by Personal Vehicle Drivers (PVDs).
"We all wear the same color – we all wear brown – and we should be paid equally," says David. "We should be employing more Teamster drivers. PVDs should not be doing our work."
