Rank-and-file committee members like Brother Dean are the backbone of the UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee. A feeder driver out of Local 63 in California, Dean is at the bargaining table and keeping the union focused on addressing issues like subcontracting and forced overtime.
"I'm continually impressed with the leadership and their acumen as far as knowing the language in the contract and knowing the laws," says Dean. "And as they talk with their counterparts from the company on the other side of the table, they are in there fighting for the members, to get the best language for the members that they can."
