North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Autumn Steam Gala 2015
From Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway held their annual Autumn steam gala weekend. This year saw two visiting locomotives in the form of SR Maunsell Class U 2-6-0 No. 31806 and WC Bullied Class 4-6-2 Pacific No. 34092 Wells. The home fleet running alongside the guests over the weekend were 45428 ‘Eric Treacy’, 61994 ‘The Great Marquess’, 63395 and 76079. The pacific handled the 1 in 49 gradient with ease, however the U class struggled, stalling twice at Green End on Sunday morning and needing the Q6 to come and assist from the rear.
