Design Pedagogy Encounter 8
Design Pedagogy ENCOUNTER, a crossing boundaries sharing and discussion from architects educators from Indonesia, UK, Italia, USA, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia about the challenges and ideas in managing design pedagogy in a design studio.
We are honored that many representatives across different schools of architecture in Indonesia and international guests share their experiences and design studios in this events. By doing so, we hope to learn to strategize a better and suitable design pedagogy for the Indonesian context.

Resza obtained his Master Degree at Bandung Institute of Technology. Currently, he involved in some experiences of research and teaching since 2012. The focus of his study is in the field of architectural design. His practices evolve around the construction of space in relation to movement and time. He is also interested in the development of a new kind of “tectonic” with expressive potentials of construction through advanced geometry and technical possibilities, new digital and material technologies that might not be alienating but rather carrying potentials for a critical architecture of experiences.
Achmad received an MUDD degree at the University of South Wales, Sydney Australia. He is a senior lecturer at ITB and a principal architect at Urbane Indonesia. He writes architectural criticism or sketches. One of the books containing a collection of his criticisms entitled {so.lil.o.quy}, was in limited edition in 2011. He also won many architectural design competition.
She is a lecturer at ITB on design studio in architecture. She has an interest in pedagogies of architecture education. In 2018 she received her PhD at TU Eindhoven on Design Decision Support System related to shopping behavior. Now, she is also a freelance architect.
Widiyani is a lecturer at ITB on design studio in architecture. She has an interest in pedagogies of architecture education. At the same time, she also started her career as an architect at a private consultant. With her colleagues, she won some awards in an Architecture design competition in Indonesia. In 2018 she received her PhD at TU Eindhoven on Design Decision Support System related to shopping behaviour.
