Design Pedagogy ENCOUNTER, a crossing boundaries sharing and discussion from architects educators from Indonesia, UK, Italia, USA, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia about the challenges and ideas in managing design pedagogy in a design studio.
We are honored that many representatives across different schools of architecture in Indonesia and international guests share their experiences and design studios in this events. By doing so, we hope to learn to strategize a better and suitable design pedagogy for the Indonesian context.

Defry studied architectural design in Surabaya and Bandung in 1999 and 2007, and worked as lecturer in ITS since 2006. He is currently studying about creativity in design process, and has a deep interest about how the brain works. He believes that architecture is only one of several miraculous things that created by mysterious side of human brain. His research interest are related with Architectural Design & Methodology and also Architectural Education & Pedagogy. Defry is founder of Critical Context. He is also Co-Principal of Ordes Arsitektur.
Fernisia is a Jakarta-based architecture academician and practitioner. Receiving her MA Architectural History from The Bartlett, University College London in 2016, her research ranges from the topic of ‘phenomenology in architecture’ and ‘representation in architecture.’ Fernisia has been based at Architecture Department of Universitas Pelita Harapan since 2017 and continues her practice at Monokroma Architect since 2013. Her most current work with monokroma in international public biennale was titled, “City Cooperative Contagion” exhibited online in London Design Biennale..
