A release form is the paperwork needed to get everyone who works in film and TV out of prison......not.
It's really a kind of simple contract for a member of cast, especially extras ( or background ) that SHOULD be signed to legally state that their image is allowed to be used for the purpose that has been agreed. What usually happens is that the forms get taken out on set, and someone forgets to get them signed so the production team end up emailing them out to the cast after the shoot instead. You know who you are.
