9/12: Macabre drammatico for Piano, Strings, & Daw in B locrian, Op. 284: “Could You?”, GSO 468 (for Pryor Devine’s “An Impossible Choice”)
Out of nowhere, an old high-school classmate hit me up and hired me to compose the soundtrack to a film he was working on. Thrilled, I created this short, atonal piece in the span of a couple days.
VIDEO NOTE: The template used for Album 34's tracks has since been invalidated by my acquisition of a newer computer. So, unfortunately, using it came with some bugs which were difficult to overcome. One problem I therefore accidentally overlooked was the length of the video. The song actually ends at the timestamp provided, but the video unintentionally spans longer:
Music - 0:00
Silence - 1:28
These Are the Days is the thirty-fourth album in my repertoire and the eighth in Phase VI, under the stage name Theihs. An amalgam album, it serves as the accumulation of his neoclassical pieces from 2021 and onward. After a decently unprolific 2020, I attempted to return to musical composition by generating the energy to write a soundtrack for a literary work I was working on in the meantime. The general acclaim for the piece, Celebration of Life, slowly brought me back into the desire of writing music. Then, after a commission for a soundtrack and the acquisition of a large bundle of instrument samples to use, I was able to continue the album’s production with a newfound fervor. The album artwork features my then-girlfriend drawing “34” with a sparkler in a long-exposure photograph with the Theihs clock under the title in the lower half of the image.
