Always lots of talk with our current socialist environment that homes should only be sold to end users and not investors. Sounds like a great idea to solve our affordability problems but what most people don’t realize is that without the investor pre-sale buyer, most of these condo developments would never get built. Finally the mom and pop landlord in the Lower Mainland provides the majority of the quality housing available for rent. Without small independent investors providing these homes, rental rates would be substantially higher, if you could even find a home to rent. Investors also provide a valuable stepping stone while the tenant saves the downpayment to buy.
