Enhancing Communicative Academic English Skills in the Gatherverse
This presentation intends to demonstrate how the Gatherverse enhances communicative and academic English skills in learners from Lingowow school through activities designed to help students develop speaking skills and patterns for professional argumentation. Preliminary results show an enhancement in students' performance when facing complex communicative tasks.
Johannes Rojas is an EFL professor who has worked in different educational levels for 15 years. Recently, he has been working online, coaching professionals at Lingowow Language School where he is the CEO & Academic Director. He is a former VenTESOL Board member as well as a national and international speaker.
Emma Palma Velásquez is an EFL instructor who has worked with students ranging from preschoolers to pre-service teachers. Currently, she is working towards incorporating effective and engaging strategies for online teaching as well as coaching professionals in upgrading their English skills at Lingowow Language School.
Alvaro Jordan is an EFL professor who has worked at different educational levels, dedicating most of his life to teaching high school students and pre-service teachers. Currently, he has been working with online teaching and training professionals at Lingowow Language School. He has been a speaker at different EFL events.
