Fraction Converter Gadget walkthrough
Many students find fractions extremely difficult; it is well known to be one of the most difficult parts of the math curriculum. In this video, Trish will walk you through the features of Professor Pete's Gadget: Fraction Converter.
This app allows students to see the various ways a fraction can be written: common fractions, decimal fractions, percentages and ratios, all with the fraction shown as parts of a circle or square. The fraction is also placed on a number line between 0 and 1 and has the written form of the name of the common fraction.
Enter any fraction as any of the above forms. Hide or reveal any form.
This software is interactive and cross-platform and is ideal for the interactive whiteboard, laptop, iPad, tablet or smart phone. It has accompanying worksheets for class or individual use.
