Cmd + D to duplicate

Q to create shape
Steps
Click on the type tool and put in a number then duplicate it and create a % sign. Add the effect slider control onto the text layer you’d like to count. Then go to that layer and toggle down Text, effects, slider control so the Slider in show. Alt+Click on the stop watch on the source text and use the pick whip tool to go to the slider. Then type in Math.round before the rest of the expression so it looks like this…. Math.round(effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”)) Set key frames for where you’d like to numbers to be and when. Use Q to create a shape around your text. Go to the shape layer and add a trim paths. Set key frames to match the keyframe on the slider. Select all the keyframes hit F9 to easy ease them. Create a solid and put a gradient on there as well as a fractal noise effect. Play with these setting if you’d like. Go to evolution in the fractal noise effect and type in Time*25. This give the pattern a bit of moment for the background to make it a bit more captivating.
Tricks/Tips
Get a rough idea of what you want you motion graphic to look like down in after Effects no matter how rough it is. I often create a motion graphic and come back to it later and tune it up.
