First you can right click in the composition window and go New, Solid. Fell freer to pick any color. You can always add a Fill effect from the effects and presets panel and change this color later on. The first effect I usually add is the gradient ramp effect. My favorite is to create a radial ramp and change the end point to have a far Y value to make the circle not that noticeable. Then add a fractal noise effect to give it some character. You can lower the opacity or change the blending mode to see both the fractal effect as well as the gradient. Play with the different fractal types and the blending modes. You really have so many options with this. Finally go to your evolution under the fractal effect and Alt + Click on the stop watch icon and use this expression… Time*10 You can also create keyframes or other expression to animate this pattern however I always like to use this one.
