Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about the Bouncerbask.
Bouncerbask involves players progressing across the floor while bouncing a ball and marking where it lands.
The basic objective of the game is to score more points than the opponent.
The game is played between two teams and each team consists of an even number of players.
The game is played in a big hall or in an open space where the ground is flat.
There are two circles, two feet in diameter and 50 feet away from each other are marked on the ground.
There is a basket hung at a pre-determined distance from the two circles.
The game is played with a bouncing ball made of solid rubber that is approximately 1.5 inches in diameter.
The game begins as one player of the first team starts playing by standing in one circle with a bouncing ball in his hand.
Which player will go first will be chosen by the captain according to the opponent.
When the bell rings, the timer starts on a screen.
The player is immediately required to throw the ball on the floor in a way that when it bounces back, it should bounce above the height of the player.
If the ball does not bounce this high, the player will have to try again.
After the bounce, the player is required to place one disk mark on the point where the ball falls first after bouncing in the air.
After placing one disk mark, the player should immediately catch the ball in the air or pick that ball from the floor.
After catching the ball, the player is required to stand on that disk mark while keeping the ball and disk in his hand.
The player will continue this procedure of bouncing the ball and marking until the player reaches the second circle.
A participant is scored according to the number of throws he or she makes to arrive on the last point in the circle.
Once the player reaches the end of the circle, they will have to stand in the circle and once again throw the bouncing ball on the floor in a way that the ball should bounce and enter the hanging basket.
The timer will immediately stop after the ball enters the basket.
The time taken by the player will be noted and the second player will come for their turn.
The team of the players who take the least time is declared as the winner.
