GAULOISES -- Assemblage Art
The artist is Pierre Buraglio. It is titled GAULOISES and is dated 1978.
Many packets of French "Gauloise" cigarettes were saved, flattened and fixed together for this one.
Whether you like this or not, find it valid or not, it looks quite pretty from far off and up close.
This clip was permitted without restriction by MACVAL, the contemporary art museum in the Val-de-Marne département just outside Paris, France. The city of Vitry-sur-Seine is part of the Greater Paris agglomeration. You can get here easily by bus, tramway or both from Paris. The first Sunday of each month, this place is free, as are many others in France, but the regular entry fee is not high.
