Rafferty Creek to Merced Lake: Yosemite Backpacking
This was a great loop trail starting and ending in Tuolumne Meadow. I Headed south on the Rafferty Creek Trail, made a quick detour to see the Fletcher Lakes near the Vogelsang Pass then continued down to Merced Lake. Great view of some Yosemite backcountry. Camped just past Merced Lake near the river. From there I hiked north along the high sierra loop trail until it connects to the JMT near the Sunrise camp. I wanted to dip into the Cathedral lakes area but it was late June and the ground was still super saturated and the mosquitos were swarming, large, and fearless. I decided to just head out and stay on the trail back to Tuolumne meadows. Made it out in time for a snack from the grill.

About 30 miles if you count the detour to Fletcher lakes and running from mosquitos at Cathedral.
