Autumn is Halloween
By
Andrew James Crawford
Trick or Treat? I hear them say
So which one should I Pick?
There’s many houses to get ‘round
Chose one and make it Quick
There’s colour now the seasons changed
Swap iced drinks to warm Booze
It’s Welly time it’s wet out there
Don’t wear those Blue Suede shoes
It’s cold it’s wet the Sun has gone
Grab hats, Grab Coats, Grab Scarf
The year’s not done let’s have some fun
Still time for a Steffi Graf
The leaves go brown fall to the ground
They make a lot of mess
But through the foliage you will find
My Conker….It’s the Best!
Halloween Night you take the Kids
It’s Dark, Bitter and Bloody Cold
More Doors, More Sweets, When will it End
I Must be getting Old
Don’t knock that door there is no light
No Pumpkin can be Seen
Look in my bucket, lack of sweets
This year seems very Lean
Wizards, Witches dressed in Black
The Kids go out at Night
The Skulls, The Blood, The Skeletons
To get the Biggest Fright
Old Jacket, Rip Shirt, throw on a Hat
It’s ‘Penny for the Guy’
The difference then compared to Now
It makes your Wallet Cry
Fall Back the Clock there is a Change
It only moves by One
Turn Heating on….No…Keep it Off!
Autumn has just Begun
