A pack of wolves appears at 5 cameras stationed along animal trails within the same high elevation wetland in Montana. All clips are from the same date and time, representing one visit by the pack.
Each camera targets a scent post of some species, such as a bear tree, bear straddle sapling, moose rub, fox pee spot, or marten scent post. Multiple species scent mark at some of them. Sometimes the wolves show interest in the scent marking of other species and sometimes they do not.
Most surprising was that they had little reaction to the cameras, even the white flash camera and the red glow camera. This is very different from what Ive seen of Montana wolves so far. Usually startle and run away. I'm guessing that these wolves range mostly within a nearby national park and have not yet learned that human related stuff can mean danger.
