Gray Rocking: Defenses Against Narcissism Series. The fourth defense against narcissistic abuse is gray rocking. Narcissists love to say outrageous, insulting things, then sit back and watch as we (naturally) get upset about them. Rest assured, those reactions will be used to shame and demean us without context later. The alternative is going into a gray-rock mode of not reacting.
Narcissism is the biggest opposing force to rights. Once people find themselves in a narcissistic relationship, they'll experience emotional and verbal (sometimes physical or sexual) abuse. Narcissists leach off of their victims, using them for all the can get and when they can extract no more, they discard their victim.
