First of all, Bautista is a great choice for Marcus Fenix.
Secondly, the original game especially would be perfect for a fast paced action film! The plot is simple enough to grasp in moments but has material for a variety of settings and suspenseful scenarios.
On the planet Sera the discovery of the Imulsion liquid power source seemed like the spark of a golden age, but instead led to many years of factional conflict. Then the miners delver too deeply and unleashed the monstrous Locust hordes upon the planet in an event called Emergence Day. Facing destruction the survivors turned their own weapon called The Hammer of Dawn on their cities. Now the only living humans remaining are convicts, soldiers, and unfortunate civilians.
If he had the choice ex-COG soldier Marcus would likely not join up with his old unit to save the world after going AWOL to save his dad in the last war.
