BLUE LAGOON, COMINO - SELF DRIVING BOAT
The self driving boat was on my To Do List for yearsss! I finally got to try it out :) We drove from Sliema to Cirkewwa, took a ferry to Gozo and from Mgarr we drove to Hondoq Bay from which we rented a self driving boat. It costs 80Eur for up to 4 pax for 3 hours + petrol.
The alarm clock rang way too early because you know...breakfast...transfer to Gozo...and coordination of 4 people...and you aimed to rent the boat at around 9am ;)
We know that the wind was going to pick up after 10:30hrs - this is an important factor to consider when about to spend money on a boat rental.
You will be explained what to do and what to be aware of. If it is your first time, you end up slightly confused from the quick briefing...eumm. You will be given a map of Comino too highlighting the main buoys, beaches a lagoons.
We spent some time trying to moor the boat in the shallow sand bed. In fact we had an impression that we were getting closer to every other boat at first no matter what we did.
The sea at Blue Lagoon is a pure paradise and I took the opportunity to snorkel to the smaller island of Cominotto and give it a short trek to show you the amazing views of Comino itself! :)
