The New Vendor Debacle
How tough is it rolling out new vendors in your organization? You have the ability to make it easy or hard. Having a challenging implementation can damage all future vendor relationships.
Here are some tips to simplify the selection and roll out process:
1. Create a new vendor checklist. Make sure it outlines the entire vendor life cycle, not just getting them set up with accounts payable.
2. Provide the vendor with FAQs. Be transparent. Share your good and bad experiences so you don’t re-live the bad ones.
3. Know ahead of time what type of vendor relationship you want, long-term, temporary, one that you are ok with changing anytime.
4. Define what success looks like, and know when you’ve reached your limit. 5. What makes you willing to abandon the vendor?
Don’t ever leave a vendor hanging. It is a relationship. It takes two to tango.
