An impressive coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible following an eruption behind the east limb early Tuesday morning (1/3/2023). Based on the rotation of the Sun, the source of the flare could be old AR 3163 from December. We should begin to see the region turn back into view during the next 24-48 hours. This CME is directed away from Earth and no impacts should be expected.
