Andre Bangambula Vindu: 'Lullaby' for piano

Andre Bangambula Vindu (b.1953) is a Congolese composer who studied and taught in Kinshasa, Hong Kong and Shanghai. He has composed in a variety of genres. This piece is taken from his Suite for Piano and is reprinted in 'Piano Music of Africa and the African Diaspora' (OUP, 2007 ed. William Chapman Nyaho) volume 1.
The music is based on a longish ostinato (three and a half bars) which recurs throughout the piece in a variety of positions on the keyboard.
