Tansman: 'Valse Lente' for piano
This brief slow waltz is the seventh piece in 'Pour les Enfants' volume 4 (intermediate level). There are plenty of opportunities for rubato in this piece and some tricky piano writing for this level (I made some small readjustments to distribution of notes between the hands).
This is music with a strongly improvised character and the theme at the start is gradually altered as the piece progresses. We start in D minor and move through a variety of keys before the final cadence in B flat major.
