Elizabeth Maconchy: 'Nodding' for piano
A curious idea for a piano piece, but finely realised by Elizabeth Maconchy here. The nodding is audible both in the rhythm and the falling two note shape. There is a contrasting middle section with some zig-zag figures whose difficulty puts this piece at grade 4 level.
The music is published in 'Five by Ten', book 3, and was probably composed around 1950.
