And you claim that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribal Israelite Prophets
were ‘Jews’ or ‘Christians’! Say, “Do you know better than God?” Ah, who could be more unjust than those who conceal the testimony they have from God? But God is not unaware of what you do.
[Amazingly, the Qur’an is alluding to a
historical fact that was unanimously accepted from research done centuries later!
Scholars of the Bible know that the concept of ‘Jewry’ came into being long
after the Patriarchs and after Moses. Likewise, the term and the doctrine of
‘Christianity’ were unknown during the life of Jesus]
﴿أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَىٰ ۗ قُلْ أَأَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ اللَّهُ ۗ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَادَةً عِندَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ﴾
[ البقرة: 140]
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَتَمَ شَهَادَةً عِنْدَةً مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
2:140 (اے یہود و نصاری) یہ تم کیا کہتے ہو کہ ابراھیم، اسمعیل ، یعقوب اور ان کی اولاد یہودی یا عیسائی ہی تھے۔
کہہ دیجئے کیا تم اللہ سے زیادہ جانتے ہو؟ بھلا اس سے بڑھ کرنا انصاف کون ہوگا جو اس گواہی کو چھپائے جو اللہ کی طرف سے ان کے پاس موجود ہے؟ جو کچھ تم لوگ کر رہے ہو اللہ اس سے غافل نہیں ۔
قرآن یہاں ایک حیرت ناک تاریخی حقیقت کا انکشاف کر رہا ہے۔ چند صدیاں پہلے بائیبل کے بڑے دانشور (سکالر ) متفق ہو چکے ہیں کہ یہودیت کی اصطلاح تو مذکورہ پیغمبروں کے بہت بعد ایجاد کی گئی۔ اسی طرح عیسی کو اپنی زندگی کے دوران نصرانیت یا عیسائیت کے الفاظ کا کچھ علم نہ تھا۔

( ae yahood o nasara ) yeh tum kya kehte ho ke abrahim, asmayl, Yaqoob aur un ki aulaad yahodi ya isaayi hi thay .
keh dijiye kya tum Allah se ziyada jantay ho? bhala is se barh kar nainsaf kon hoga jo is gawahi ko chupaye jo Allah ki taraf se un ke paas mojood hai? jo kuch tum log kar rahay ho Allah is se ghaafil nahi .
quran yahan aik herat naak tareekhi haqeeqat ka inkishaaf kar raha hai. chand sadiyan pehlay biboe ke barray Danishwer ( skalar ) mutfiq ho chuke hain ke yahoodiyat ki istilaah to mazkoorah payghambaroon ke bohat baad ijaad ki gayi. isi terhan eesa ko apni zindagi ke douran nasraneyat ya esaiyat ke alfaaz ka kuch ilm nah tha .
