Quran Verse 135 Chapter 2 Al-baqarah
English & Urdu
اُردو
Translation by Shabbir Ahmed, MD., Florida.
They say, “Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided.” Say, “Nay! Ours is the Creed of Abraham the upright. He turned away from all that is false, and he was not an idolater in any sense.” [And he was neither a Jew nor a Christian (3:67).
Mushrik مشرك = Idolater = Pagan = Anyone who ascribes divinity to other than the
One True God = Who associates partners with Him = Who prefers manmade tenets = Who worships idols in any form such as statues, own desires, forces
in Nature, any of God’s creation = One who uncritically follows what others do = A blind follower = One who considers men as authorities instead of the Divine revelation = Anyone who makes lists of Halaal (permissible) and Haraam
(forbidden) from outside the Qur’an = One who believes in clergy against the
Divine revelation = Who adores saints, political or religious leaders = Who bows
or prostrates physically or mentally before a creation = Who promotes books,
dogmas and tenets contrary to the Qur’an. Shirk شرك = The act of being a Mushrik]
﴿ وَقَالُوا كُونُوا هُودًا أَوْ نَصَارَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ﴾
[ سورة البقرة: 135]
2:135 - پھر بھی وہ کہتے ہیں ، کہ یہودی یا نصرانی ہو جاؤ (یہودی کہتے ہیں یہودی ہو جاؤ، نصرانی کہتے ہیں کہ نصرانی ہو جاؤ) تو ہدایت یافتہ ہو جاؤ گے۔ کہیے، ہرگز نہیں ۔ ہمارا راستہ تو ابراہیم کا راستہ ہے جو حنیف یعنی سیدھی راہ پر چلنے والے تھے اور ہر باطل سے منہ موڑ چکے تھے۔ وہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہراتے تھے۔ [ ابراھیم نہ یہودی تھے نہ عیسائی 3:67 ۔ نوٹ کیجئے کہ ابراھیم کے بیٹے اسحق" تھے اور ان کے بیٹے یعقوب ۔ یہود تو آل یعقوب کو کہا جاتا ہے۔ رہے نصاری سو وہ اپنا رشتہ عیسی کے ساتھ جوڑتے ہیں جو صدیوں بعد تشریف لائے تھے۔]
2 : 135 - phir bhi woh kehte hain, ke yahodi ya nasrani ho jao ( yahodi kehte hain yahodi ho jao, nasrani kehte hain ke nasrani ho jao ) to hadaayat Yafta ho jao ge. kahiye, hargiz nahi. hamara rasta to ibrahim ka rasta hai jo Hanif yani seedhi raah par chalne walay thay aur har baatil se mun mourr chuke thay. woh Allah ke sath kisi ko shareek nah th_hrate thay. [ abrahim nah yahodi thay nah isaai 3 : 67. note kijiyej ke abrahim ke betay ashaq" thay aur un ke betay Yaqoob . yahood to all Yaqoob ko kaha jata hai. rahay nasara so woh apna rishta eesa ke sath jorhte hain jo sadiiyon baad tashreef laaye thay. ]
