Whispers -- composed using Giant Music Transformer (AI)
This is derived from an original seed generated by Giant Music Transformer Bulk Generator. After preparing the seed, I generated 20 long (3000 tokens) continuations. From those continuations, I selected phrases for the final piece.
A viewer asked me how time-consuming is it for me to review continuations. First, I don't review them in MIDI sequencing software. Instead, I use a playlist in a MIDI player, like in Windows, the included Windows Media Player, so I can cycle through them quickly.
If one starts playing, and it's garbage, I just click to the next one. And the way to load them in the Windows Media Player, about 50 to 75 at a time, is to in the file directory where the continuations are stored in Windows, wherever file you put them in, highlight the files you want to audition, by holding down the shift key, and using the down arrow to highlight them, then right click on the highlighted files and there should be an option to load them into your MIDI player, like Windows Media Player.
I actually use VLC, but VLC has to be set up to play MIDIs. I use VLC because it can use a free set of instruments that is higher quality than the set that comes built into Windows Media Player.
Sometimes, I also let them play through while I exercise. Long continuations are usually from 20 seconds to 2 minutes long. If I hear one I like, I note what number it is to save it, for later working on in MIDI software.
It's probably possible to work on MIDIs using the free music writing software called MuseScore4. It has an optional free set of instruments which are very high quality. They really sound about as good as instrument packages that would cost hundreds of dollars. Music writing software is good for people who like working in musical notation.
There are a lot of tips and tricks to working with midi. For example, when I save the seed to use it for continuations in Giant Music Transformer Bulk Generator, I always strip if of the high quality piano VST sound I use, and instead use the basic MIDI piano sound.
And when you want to do an arrangement of something you've played on a MIDI keyboard and used sustain pedal, you should erase all the pedal indications before trying to make an instrumental arrangement out of it.
So, composing with AI takes a lot of patience and MIDI software, and/or music writing software, they can take a long time to master, whereas the AI software, you can learn working with it for a few hours. Writing music with it takes time and patience though, and it will really help if you are familiar with using MIDI software especially, like if you've composed with that for a few years, in terms of writing pieces that sound good.

Giant is faster than Allegro, and the bulk generator version of Giant allows a user to generate multiple continuations without overloading RAM, and it is less work since it can zip the files and download in one step. I do long continuations in sets of 30 though. In the regular version of Giant Music Transformer, only 16 can be done at a time, and then you have to click on them individually in the directory to download them.
