Transcript:
The realm of Westeros had been loyal to Targaryen rule for over 250 years until the final King of that bloodline came into power. King Aerys Targaryen the second succeeded Jaehaerys Targaryen the second, who only reigned for three years before succumbing to a fatal illness.

At the start of his reign, Aerys brought peace to the realm, looking as if he would become a fair and well loved King. But this promising ruler soon plummeted into madness following a series of events such as the death of his sons and multiple miscarriages and stillbirths from his wife, Rhaella.

This mad King, even had suspicions of his own son, Prince Rhaegar, planning to usurp the throne. Rhaegar was well liked by all and gifted in combat and music. He was married to Ellia Martell of Dorne but he had eyes for another. His affection would become known after he won the Tournament at Harenhal, where it is custom for the victor to proclaim a queen of love and beauty, all expeceted the Princes wife to be chosen, but instead he picked Lyanna Stark of Winterfell.

Lyanna was very beautiful, with dark hair and green eyes typical of a Stark and was sister to Brandon, Ned and Benjin. As the Stark's were a prominent family she was promised to the Lord of Storm's End, Robert Baratheon.

Robert was a tall, broad shouldered, muscular man who was skilled with the axe and is said to have a good battlefield voice. He was madly in love with his wife to be, Lyanna Stark and the events at the Tourney of Harenhal affected him the most.

Soon after the historic event, supposedly, Rhaegar's lust drove him to kidnap Lyanna, sparking controversy between noble houses. Upon learning the news, her oldest Brother travelled to King's Landing and exclaimed that Prince Rhaegar leave his castle and die. Rhaegar was not present but the Mad King arrested Brandon all the same and demanded that his Father travel to the Red Keep to attend court. The Lord of Winterfell, and Father of the Stark children, Rickard Stark was put on trial to answer for his sons crimes, he chose a trial by combat, which the Mad King agreed to then selected fire as his champion.

Rickard was then suspended from the rafters in the throne room and set alight while Brandon was placed in a strangling device with a sword placed just out of his reach. Both died in the throne room as the Mad King Aerys watched.

Soon news traveled to Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon that the Mad King wanted their heads, and as a result of these events they raised their banners along side Jon Arryn, Lord of the Vale, and began a war that is known as Robert's Rebellion.
