G'day guys, in today's video we are going to be discussing exactly what is the soon to be released TV series, Westworld.
So Westworld is a new TV series, set to be released on HBO some time this year created by Jonathan Nolan, Christopher Nolan's brother. It is a Sci-Fi Thriller based on the 1973 film of the same name featuring Yul Brynner. The movie follows two characters who visit a futuristic, Western-themed, amusement park called Delos. The park was created with scenarios filled with androids, where visitors can come and play out this fantasies within the three different “worlds”, a Roman World, A Medieval World and and Old American Western World.
These realistic androids are programmed and controlled with different characteristics and roles designed for each guests fantasy. Activities include sexual fantasies to fighting and killing. While the two main characters, Peter Martin and John Blane are living out a fantasy in the Western World, a virus like issue plagues the androids and they begin killing guests against their programming.
Form what we know, the TV series seems to only focus around the Western theme and, rather than a virus, the highly advanced androids step into the realm of artificial intelligence and self consciousness.
The named cast has a few well known actors
Anthony Hopkins will play the park's Director, James Marsden, cyclops from X-Men, will play an android gunslinger, Evan Rachel Wood, who starred in the Wrestler, is a Western Girl whose artifical intelligence leads her to find out her life is a constructed lie, Jeffery Wright's character is head of Westworld, Miranda Otto, of Lord of the Rings, as Westworld's Quality Assurance Officer, and Ed Harris as the Man in black a mysterious villain.
With all these big names, the quality of HBO TV and the sci-fi slash western theme I am super excited for this one, it looks promising and you will definitely be hearing more about this series on my channel.
