Transcript:
Now the Rebellion is in full swing, sides have been taken and Robert, Eddard and Jon Arryn set their gaze toward fully removing the Targaryen rulers.
Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell secured an alliance with the Tully's of Riverrun by marrying the bride to be of his deceased brother, Catelyn Tully. Meanwhile down in the South, The Mad King speculated that his current Hand of the King, Owen Merryweather, had been helping the rebels. In fear of these suspicions, King Aerys stripped the Hand of all lands and titles then replaced him with Jon Connington, a good friend of the Crown Prince Rhaegar.
Jon Connington was the head of his house, a renowned warrior and personally led armies against the rebels. The first major and influential fight in the campaign, the Battle of the Bells, was fought at the Stoney Sept after Jon Connington had chased a wounded Robert Baratheon into the town. The Targaryen forces went through the city, house by house, searching for Robert when they were met by Stark and Tully squadrons. Connington and his men fought back hard, wounding Hoster Tully and killing the cousin and only heir to Jon Arryn and the Vale. Fighting continued at every corner of the city, Robert even managed to surface, joining in the counter attack. Eventually Connington realised they were losing and ordered a retreat.
This fight proved many things to the realm and its King as they come realise that this rebellion was a serious threat to the crown and Targaryen family. The Mad King was furious at their loss in the Stoney Sept, he blamed Connington and also removed him of lands and titles, then shortly replaced him with Qarlton Chelsted and ordered the pyromancers to place wildfire throughout King's Landing. He then sent the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard to find his son Rhaegar. Upon the Prince's return he asked that his father seek out the Lannisters for their help. The Mad King sent word but the Lannisters did not respond. The Hand, Chelsted, became suspicious of his King's dealings with pyromancers and eventually discovered their activities. He attempted to change the Mad King's mind but was unsuccessful. He then resigned his role of Hand of the King and was replaced by pyromancer Rossart.
Jon Arryn, now with no heir, strengthened the relationship with the Tully's and married Lysa Tully, sister to Catelynn. As both sides lick their wounds after the Battle of the Bells they also prepared for the imminent and most influential fight of the rebellion, the Battle of The Trident.
