Colon cancer is a disease that primarily affects the older population aged over 60. The HCT-116 colorectal cancer cell line has been used for investigating colon carcinoma molecular biology and biochemical pathways involved in cellular processes such as proliferation. The HCT-116 cell line was initially established from the primary epithelial tumor tissue of an adult male.
