A moderate strength solar flare measuring M4.0 was observed around active sunspot region 2975 on March 28, 2022 at 11:29 UTC. A type II radio emission with an estimated velocity of 1259 km/s was detected. An asymmetric halo coronal mass ejection (CME) became visible soon afterwards and appears to have an Earth directed component. A passage past Earth is predicted on March 31, 2022 and could lead to possible Moderate (G2) level geomagnetic storm conditions. Aurora sky watchers at higher latitudes should be alert within the next 48-72 hours.
