Chris Slade is a Welsh drummer who has enjoyed 60+ years in the music industry. Chris started out playing in Tom Jones’ backing band, The Squires. For seven years Chris backed Tom Jones, even playing on “It’s Not Unusual” and all of his 60’s hits. Chris was a founding member of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band in 1971. He spent seven years with the band, playing on and recording 8 albums. Over his career Mr. Slade has played with Frankie Miller, Uriah Heep, Gary Numan, Mick Ralphs, was a member of The Firm with Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers, Gary Moore, AC/DC, Asia and Michael Schenker. In 2012, Chris formed the band, The Chris Slade Timeline, to mark 50 years as a professional drummer. The current lineup features Paul “Bun” Davis on vocals, Steve Gee on bass, James Cornford on guitar, Mike Clarke on keyboards and guitar and Chris on drums. The band just released their new double album Timescape on July 19th.
