Stu Nunnery Interview (8/10/24)
Stu Nunnery is an American writer, composer, musician, recording artist, actor and activist. In the early 70’s Stu released a self-titled solo album in 1973. A couple of tracks “Madelaine” and “Sally From Syracuse” (also released as singles) charted in the US. In 1974, the single “Lady It’s Time to Go” became #1 in Brazil. In the mid 70’s Stu began a prolific career in the jingle advertising business working on several national advertising campaigns. Between 1978 and 1981 Stu suffered a hearing loss and partial loss of sight that would sideline him in the music industry for more than 35 years. Mr. Nunnery would return to the entertainment industry appearing in commercials and feature films. In 2015, aided by his audiologist, the latest technology and vocal and auditory training, Stu returned to his passion, music. In recent years Stu has been quite active in speaking and writing about his experiences with hearing loss and bringing more needed attention to hearing problems. Today my guest is still writing and has finished a screenplay about his life in and out of music.
