Denny Carleton (The Lost Souls, The Choir, Moses) Interview (8/4/24)
Ever since the 1960’s Denny Carleton has been a mainstay in the Cleveland music scene. Guitarist, singer and songwriter, Denny began his musical journey in 1965 with high school band The Lost Souls. In ‘68, Denny was asked to join The Choir, the band who previously had a national hit with “It’s Cold Outside”. Next would come stints in the band Moses, Milk, The Fa Band, The Pagans and later on the Surprize Band aka The Window. During the 80’s Denny set up his own label, Green Light, taught guitar, released cassettes and joined the group Just Guise doing parodies on radio. In 1989, Denny and his new wife Theresa Galish began playing live as a folk duet for a while. Since that time Mr. Carleton has taught music, hosted his own radio show and played with The Elements. Denny has recorded 12 CD’s and his music has been aired on hundreds of radio stations in the US and Canada. Today, my guest writes music for plays, performs solo live shows, has a podcast and organizes concerts under the moniker Denny Carleton and Friends.
