It's not about creating 'funny teachers' or making jokes or gags in class, it's about learning the means of communication from stand up comedians and the transferable skills of dynamic and engaging dialogue.
Research into oracy and dialogic education support that engaging communication in the classroom leads to improved learning outcomes for students.
So the lesson for teachers to learn is the methods and means of effective communication.
