Email [email protected] if you're interested! I plan on making more of these in the near future and/or selling kits.
I simplified and improved the parts, with a laser cut + milled aluminum carriage, laser cut aluminum motor mount, a milled slot in 1010S aluminum T-slot to hide the pulley, and a 3D printed end cap/idler bearing housing. Everything else is off the shelf hardware! Also worth noting, the belt path is drastically improved from last time.
Most industrial actuators are overkill for prototypes, academic projects, and research applications. When you just need to move something light with reasonable accuracy and don't care how many million cycles it needs to last, this is the perfect solution.
It's low cost, simple, easy to integrate with other off the shelf components, and can be easily configured for any length you want.
I'm always looking for feedback. Let me know what you think in the comments!
