Lower back muscles and your abdominals work together to stabilize and protect your back.⁠

Overworking the abs. means that you are creating a shorter muscle on the front of the barrel (your trunk) which now does not match the back and sides of the barrel.⁠

This is absolutely not the right way to create stability.⁠

So what should you do?⁠

Do exercises that practice all of these muscles together so they learn to 'dance' together. You are only as strong as the team you are a part of and that goes for your muscles too.⁠
