Universal Analytics Shutting Down: How to Switch to GA4
Google's Universal Analytics is shutting down as of July 1, 2023. Now is the time to create a Google Analytics 4 property, if you haven't already done so. We look at what this means for your analytics, and we also show you how to use your existing Google Universal Analytics tags to create a new GA4 property that will run in parallel to your UA tags (you do not need to create a new Tracking Code. This works if you are using the Google Tag Manager tracking code. The older Google Analytics Object tracking code will not be able to create a new GA4 tag using existing code. However, you can install Tracking Code from your existing UA account and then create a new Google Analytics 4 property from the Admin without losing any data.
