Will ChatGPT Replace Humans for Content?
Will AI content and ChatGPT replace human creativity and content creators? Many digital marketers are gushing about ChatGPT and AI content, but there are still some noticeable flaws, and some ethical dilemmas when it comes to content generation via artificial intelligence and machine learning. ChatGPT is being leveraged to create written content using prompts that a user inputs. Using language models, powered by Open AI, ChatGPT outputs content based on the user prompts. This can be okay for generic content, but seems unsuitable for knowledge in niche industries, and fields that have a direct impact on a person's well-being, like finance, health, or legal advice.
Disturbingly, ChatGPT also has been shown in numerous cases to amplify hateful human biases, such as racism, Islamophobia, homophobia, sexism, and antisemitism. Like all current artificial intelligence, ChatGPT amplifies the biases of the content it is modelling languages upon. It is not "intellegence", and it merely "remixes" language based on the source material that it learns from.
We also look at the ethics of AI image generation, and how artists are having their entire catalogs of work siphoned off without any compensation. There are also some racist biases baked into some of the AI image generators.
All this said, many marketers are jumping at the chance to use this tool in content creation, even if it is not always accurate. Our advice is, if you are going to use ChatGPT, please have a subject matter expert, or highly-skilled editor check each piece of content for accuracy, details, and signs of cognitive bias.
