Gwilym Simcock: 'Boss Cat' for piano
This is one of the stand-out pieces in Nikki Iles's recently published 'Nikki Iles and Friends: Jazz Pieces for Piano' (Book 1: Intermediate). Of course Gwilym Simcock is an internationally renowned jazz pianist and composer: I've heard him play solo live a couple of times and he is really a class act. As in many of the other jazz pieces I've uploaded, I've chosen a tempo I like rather than the suggestion given (crochet = 106 and marked 'laid back', which is not how I think of it!). Difficulty is about grade 6, I'd say.
