RECOGNISING HABITS: It’s important to realise quickly how your opponent is reacting to your attacks.
In this fight footage you can see me throw a low kick to test out what he does. If you notice he attempts to catch my leg (this is a huge no, no against a low kick). A few moments later I throw another to see if it’s a habit or merely a one off occasion, as you can see he tries to do it again.
My next move is to bait him in to thinking I’m going to attack leg again. I use my eyes to make him think I’m going for a low kick (you can see my head tilt slightly in the video) but instead of going low I switch the kick up to his head to score a ko.
Remember to analyse how your opponent reacts, many of their reactions will be habits and these habits can used against them.
