Yagi Typhoon Forecast - Tropical Weather Bulletin
The main story in today's tropics is the development of Tropical Storm Yagi, which is exiting the coast of Luzon in the Philippines. The storm is expected to rapidly intensify as it moves over the South China Sea, and is expected to reach Category 4 status to the south of China. The storm could make a powerful landfall on Hainan island, or further north later this week or weekend.
Elsewhere, the Atlantic continues to make noise with at least two areas of interest this week, one over the energetic waters of the Caribbean. Development of one or more storms is possible later this week as the systems move towards the Yucatan Peninsula, and off the western coast of Africa.
