D-E-T-R-O-I-T Sign, I-94 (Apr2024)
Overviews of Detroit's new welcome sign along the eastbound of I-94 (Edsel Ford Freeway) which is inbound from Detroit Metro Airport (DTW). Installed just weeks before the city hosts the 2024 NFL Draft which expected to bring 300,000 visitors and $150 million in tourism spending to the region.
Reviews were quite negative before installation. Especially in reaction to an incorrect AI image generated by a local media outlet. Once installed and illuminated for nighttime motorists the reactions seemed to be more positive. Additional smaller signs are being installed along
