Moving upriver along a partially frozen Detroit River. The Gordie Howe Bridge (set for completion Sep 2025) is seen first, then the Ambassador Bridge (completed Nov 1929) and finally Detroit's skyline along the riverfront then from over Eastern Market.
As close-knit neighbors, both with deep auto industry roots, Detroit USA and Windsor CANADA host the busiest commercial border crossing in the Western Hemisphere. $400 million in goods cross the border between the two nations each day in the Detroit region. The new Gordie Howe Bridge will bolster that trade for generations.
