We are now with QuickTime 4.0 for Windows. Released in June of 1999, QT4 was the first version that supported streaming. The UI changed as well by incorporating the brushed metal theme. Codec wise, there wasn't any update though.

Here is some gameplay from WipeOut running on the EPSXE Emulator that was captured in the MP4 format using OBS Studio that was then converted to Xvid which could then be opened under Virtual Dub on the host. The video was then converted again, this time in the Cinepack AVI, from where it was copied onto an VMware Player VM running Windows NT 4.0 with SP6 installed. Adobe Premiere 5.1 was installed on that VM, which could encode video in the Sorenson format. After that the final video was copied from my NT4 VM to my Win98 VM and loaded into QT4. The video shown playing under QT4 was originally rendered on KDEenlive on Windows 10 as an MP4 at 1080HD 60FPS.

VirtualBox is virtualizing a multimedia PC with a single-core processor, 96MB's of RAM, and a VESA Compatible display adapter. Windows is running at the screen resolution of 1024 by 768, 32-bit depth. A Creative Labs SoundBlaster 16 is installed for audio support while a AMD PCnet-FAST III NIC is installed for networking support. Windows 98SE is installed
