Sony's Vaio Space On 86Box
The Sony Vaio machines, since there earliest releases, were renowned for there multimedia capabilities. Sony wanted you to know that you were getting a multimedia powerhouse. After the installation of the Sony Windows 95, one is greeted with the custom launcher known as the Sony Vaio Space. Compared to the Packard Bell Navigator or the Ace Desktop of the Acer PC's, VAIO Space looks very different. It's actually looks much more like a precursor of the later 3DNA desktop as it has a pseudo-3D look. A video plays when the program is launched. One has to remember that video playback on the PC during this time was still a new-found novelty that many haven't expirienced up to that point. As such, I could have imagined that many PC users who were greeted to the VAIO for the very first time would have been amazed by such visual presented by both the desktop and the video playback.
Regardless of its cool visuals, VAIO Space functions how any standard Windows launcher would, bring up the expected applications which are categorized by there function. There is a section for productivity, system, and multimedia applications, along with games. After playing both Jezzball and Space Cadet pinball, both preinstalled on the system, I can understand why many PC users who purchased a VAIO PC for the first time back in the day would have been amazed by the full-blown multimedia experience offered by there new computer.

running at 75MHz, 48MB's of RAM, and a S3 Virge SVGA Video Adapter. Windows is running at the following screen resolution: 800 by 600, 16-bit (65,536 Colors) depth. Also installed is a Creative Labs SoundBlaster 16 and a AMD PC-net-ISA with PCap enabled for networking. The Sony Vaio OEM version of Windows 95 is installed.
