How to use the Cogwheel in your Vizrt 4 designs.

The Vizrt 4 Cogwheel is a three dimensional object that can be configured in many different ways. It is found in the Builtin-Ins window, Geometry Plugins (GP) tab within the default folder.

When you drag the Cogwheel into the scene tree, it doesn’t look like anything other than a rectangle. Since this is a three dimensional object, you may want to drag a material upon the container to give the cogwheel some color and shading. Since it is a three dimensional object, the material will give it shading from the light in the scene, thus showing you the three dimensions.

The Vizrt 4 Cogwheel Geometry has a manageable amount of properties that you can adjust within its editor. With these options, you can make a lot of various shapes. Here are some of the options for the Cogwheel:

UseLOD enables / disables the dynamic level of detail
Tesselation sets the detail level
Corners sets the numbers or corners or teeth. The cogwheel gets one tooth per corner.
Height sets the height of the cogwheel.
Tooth Height sets the height of the teeth.
Diameter will set the diameter of the cogwheel.
Hole will create a hole in the middle of the Cogwheel
Bevel will bevel the cogwheel. Set the numerical value.
Inner Bevel will will enable or disable the bevel in the hole
Show Top will enable or disable the top of the cogwheel.
Show Bottom will enable or disable the bottom of the cogwheel.
Center will allow you to select where the cogwheel’s center should be. The choices are Center, Bottom or Top.
When you use the Center option, you are changing the point at which the cogwheel will begin when you adjust the Height setting. For example if you set the Center to bottom and increase the Height setting, the cogwheel will grow from the bottom.
